7 Healthy Habits To Include In Your Morning Routine


Whether you're someone who is constantly on the go and in a rush every morning, or someone who spends a lot of time at home with no need to get things done quickly in the mornings, these ten healthy habits should be incorporated into everyones morning routine to make you feel productive, energised and happy that you've got things done and also had a little time for yourself every morning to get yourself fully prepared for the day ahead of you. I personally love finding the time to do each of these things, and if you really don't have much time, maybe pick just a couple of these habits to try and include into your mornings . But if you can, try to find the time to pick up all of these healthy habits as you will benefit so much from them and suddenly doing these things every single day will become normal to your every day routine!

Make A Healthy Breakfast -
Okay, so this one is so obvious, but the amount of people that I've met that don't eat breakfast in the mornings because they don't have the time or just can't be bothered with it is crazy! It's such a key thing to kick start your day in the best way and fuel you up to be productive and be able to concentrate especially if you're in school. A quick breakfast doesn't have to mean buying sugary cereals from the supermarket because it's convenient either. I personally love making my own granola in batches from scratch so I know exactly what ingredients are going into it, I then store it in jars and it stays fresh for around 3 weeks! Not to mention, I feel great after eating this! Other healthy breakfasts include muesli, oats, smoothies / smoothie bowls, healthy protein pancakes / waffles, the options are endless. If you're really struggling to find the time for breakfast in the mornings then making overnight oats could become you're best friend, it's quick, convenient and not to mention super yummy! If you're not a fan of oats then prepping some smoothie ingredients and putting them in a freezer bag to then blend up really quickly in the morning is also a great idea! You can make these in big batches for the week on a Sunday evening and it will really save you some time in the mornings, but also give you a boost of energy and leave you feeling satisfied.

Be Optimistic -
Although this isn't something to physically make yourself do in the mornings, it's still really great to wake up and tell yourself that anything is possible and you can accomplish whatever goals you set yourself for the day ahead of you. I am definitely an optimist rather than a realist - I have so many goals and dreams that some people may think impossible, but I believe that if you work for what you want, you can accomplish anything. Waking up with a smile on your face and a happy, optimistic mind set will definitely start your day off in the best way possible.

Write Down Your Goals -
Following on from the habit above, writing down your goals for the day, week or month will help you in long run. If you're anything like me, I tend to forget half the things I tell myself that I want to get done within a few hours, so writing my goals down definitely helps SO much. Whether or not you write these goals down in the notes on your phone, in a journal or on a sticky note on the fridge, any of them are great and will hopefully help you have the most productive day!

Workout  -
I personally love working out in the mornings as I notice that my body aches such much less during the day when I do, as well as not feeling sluggish with no energy. Although sometimes just the thought of working out alone is effort, when you're half way through a good workout it no longer seems so bad, and then afterwards you're left feeling energised and ready to get things done.

Stretch -
If you have no time for workouts in the morning, then a quick 5 - 10 minute stretch every day is great! Stretching helps to improve flexibility and relieve any achey pains you have especially if you've slept funny. I often get lower back pain so stretching out all my muscles in the morning makes me feel a million times better and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Drink Fresh Juice -
Reaching for juice from a carton or getting a quick coffee fix in the morning is definitely the easiest option, but drinking freshly made juice not only wakes you up without the caffeine crash that would soon follow after a cup of coffee, it also helps improve your skin and cleanse your body of any nasty toxins. There are so many juice recipe ideas Pinterest, youtube, blog posts etc.. so you're bound to find one that you love without all the sugar that gets added to juice from a carton. A lot of people believe that making fresh juice is expensive, but you can find reduced fruit in supermarkets or even locally grown fruit at farmers markets can be inexpensive. Even just by making fresh juice a couple times a week rather than every day can benefit your body massively!

Do One Task At A Time -
A lot of people often want to get everything done at once, but doing so can often make you feel angry, confused or you even get so into the idea of trying to get everything done that you forget what those things were in the first place. Take a minute to breathe and begin by writing down all the things you want to get done like I mentioned in tip number three, and cross them out as you go. This way you still end getting everything done, but without all the stress! If you procrastinate a lot, then setting yourself a timer on your phone for around two hours is a great way to tell yourself to try to get everything done in that time slot, rather than procrastinating for two hours and trying to squeeze everything in within five minutes.
