A Halloween Evening Guide

Happy Halloween all! I feel like the lead up to halloween is a lot more hyped up than the actual day itself, but I'm still going to make the most out of celebrating today by having a lovely relaxed evening with my boyfriend and family, watching spooky movies (or not so spooky, Hocus Pocus anyone?) with all the tasty treats. I can't believe blogtober is officially over! this month has flown by, but I'm so happy that I've managed to get a blog post up for you every single day throughout the month - I hope you've enjoyed reading them as much as I have enjoyed creating them!

Now that Halloween is coming to an end, I thought I'd give you a last minute mini guide to help you make the most out of the evening if you're planning on spending time at home with your loved ones.

Carve Pumpkins -
I was honestly starting to think that I wasn't going to be able to cross this off of my bucket list for autumn this year, but I finally managed to carve my first pumpkin of the year yesterday evening. Although my attempt at carving Harry Potter into my pumpkin ended up looking like a four year old could have done better work, I'm still glad I managed to do it in time for Halloween! If you still have yet to carve a pumpkin, please do it! It gives you the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and catching up rather than scrolling through social media in the evening. I really enjoyed sitting down and chatting with my sister while we listened to my ultimate halloween playlist. It's such a great feeling once you've finished carving you pumpkin and placing it by your fireplace or outside and lighting it up so that you get all the spooky halloween vibes, whilst still looking somewhat pretty.

Snacks -
What's halloween without treats?! If you're having a night in with family and friends, then you're bound to want to stack up on treats for your movie, and keeping some aside for trick or treaters. I feel like the hype of halloween has died down in our town over the years, so there's not so many trick or treaters about like when I was younger, but it's still always nice to keep some sweets aside for the odd few that do knock on the door. I've still got my pumpkin bread left over from yesterday so I'll probably devour this tonight as it's just so good along with my favourite chocolate treats from The Happea Herbivore. These are honestly the best vegan chocolate bars I have ever had and they're halloween collection is the cutest!

Movies -
I cannot wait to throw on a few of our classic family favourites later this evening, my favourite has always been Halloweentown, but my family always enjoy Hocus Pocus so we're bound to watch both of these. I'm really not one for horror movies anymore, so I won't be watching anything too scary this year. If you're not really interested in watching any movies then I've heard so much about the new The Haunting of Hill House and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series on Netflix which both seem perfect for Halloween. Neither of them sound too spooky, but both still have gripping storylines, so I cannot wait to get started on them soon.

Games -
If you're not too full after all of the snacks that you've been eating all night, then why not play some games with your family? During every holiday season, the monopoly board always seems to find it's way out of the cupboard in our household, so we're bound to be playing something like this tonight. Sometimes the thought of board games aren't fun, but once you start playing and having a laugh with everyone that you're surrounded by, it always turns into a really great evening playing silly games.

I hope you all have a great halloween whether you're going out or staying in! I'm still going to stay consistent with my blog posts as I've really started to get into the routine of writing them every day and I've been enjoyed it so much. So although they might not be uploaded every day, I'm still going to aim for every other day or a few times a week and create a schedule. Right, I'm off to eat pumpkin bread and sip on a big ol' cup of coffee, enjoy your evening!

What are you doing for Halloween?

Love Always,
Shannon x
