5 Lazy Day Essentials

10.08.2018

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope your week is off to a good start! I'm sat here writing this post, wishing I had a toffee nut latte in hand and getting super excited about the festivities that are slowly getting closer. Today I wanted to share the perfect lazy day/evening essentials to get you feeling all cosy and relaxed, as I know everyone loves a bit of chill out time in the colder months. Some of these essentials may be completely obvious and you'll probably think well duh Shannon, we know this, but if you're wanting a check list for a last minute chilled out evening with your favourite person, then you're not going to want to forget about any of these as they are important, hence the word "essentials".

Candles -
What sets the cosy vibes more than a candle (besides a fireplace)? thats right, nothing. Gather up all of your cosiest candles, light those babies up and make your home smell like all the different scents of Autumn. I was super happy the other day when I walked into Boots and noticed that they had all the festive Yankee Candles out, I had to hold back everything in me not to get them as they were all gorgeous. Although I did spot a few new scents that I instantly thought were the perfect Autumn scents, my favourite being Sweet Frosting, which is not usually a scent I would choose, but it was amazing!

Netflix -
We all love a good Netflix binge every now and then. I recently shared "8 Movies I'm Watching This Autumn" which I highly suggest reading if you're looking for something new to watch on Netflix. However, my absolute favourite movies that make me feel all the emotions are:

1. Love, Rosie
2. Me Before You
3. 10 Things I Hate About You
4. About Time
5. Uptown Girls
6. Notting Hill
7. The Holiday

Pyjamas -
And all other kinds of comfy clothing. It's almost like an unwritten rule that you have to wear pyjamas, comfy underwear, a dressing gown, leggings or jogging bottoms whenever you're watching a movie. I mean, who really sits in jeans and thinks that it's lazy day acceptable? Places like Urban Outfitters, Topshop and Free People are always my go to / favourites when it comes down to comfy clothing, so I thought I'd share a few items I'm loving right now.

Faux Fur Fluffy Robe - Topshop - £32
Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Joggers - Urban Outfitters - £56
Out From Under Kassy Thermal Crop Top - Urban Outfitters - £22
Super Soft Skinny Sweats - Free People - £108

Food -
So of course you're going to get hungry during all these movies you have to catch up on, so naturally, I selected a few of my favourite snacks / treat ideas to whip up before your ultimate chill time begins. Although, surely I'm not the only one who finds baking super relaxing? Especially with the likes of Hozier or James Bay playing in the background. If you're wanting a more halloween themed lazy evening then my previous post would be the perfect place to check out halloween treat ideas. However, if you're not wanting a theme, then you NEED to check out these recipes below:

Face Masks -
Makeup has got to be a no go for an evening of relaxing. I swear even if i'm only wearing mascara while I'm watching a movie it bothers me beyond belief. Since this is the most perfect opportunity to give yourself a pamper or try new skincare products, there is no better chance to slap on a face mask you've been saving for a lazy Sunday / evening. I've been dying to try Glamglow face masks for what feels like forever, but since they're pretty pricey, I haven't really allowed myself to get one. However, there are so many more affordable brands that I love, so for now they're doing just fine. My go to face mask brands are definitely Anatomicals, iN.gredients, Garnier and The Body Shop.

What are your lazy day essentials?

Love Always,
Shannon x
