Umberto Giannini Grow Long Collection

2.07.2019

*This post is in collaboration with Umberto Giannini, but all opinions are my own as always.

I've always had pretty average hair, but the one thing that I've always wanted is for it to just hurry up and grow. I feel like I'm always having to cut the ends off of my hair to keep it healthy, but it doesn't seem to grow back quick enough and it's just like a constant cycle. When I realised Umberto Giannini had released their brand new "Grow Long" collection, I knew I had to try it and see if it would help my hair in any way.

They sent over their entire range featuring their brand new shampoo and conditioner along with their Hemp, Coconut and Shea Grow Mask, Grow Scrub and Grow Tonic. I was intrigued by every single product as the ingredients sounded amazing and I always fall in love with anything coconut or shea scented, but now with the mixture of both?! wow oh wow.

Grow Long Vegan Root Stimulating Shampoo & Lengthening Conditioner -
As someone who washes their hair every day (bad habit, I know) I can be quite picky with shampoo and conditioner as there are a few brands that often make my roots feel greasy. I'll be honest, I've found it pretty hard to find a vegan shampoo and conditioner that make my hair feel soft and 100% clean, so I was over the moon after trying these products and falling completely in love. The scent alone is enough to make you want to try them as it's so soothing, but once I've washed out the conditioner my hair feels BEYOND soft and silky, it's incredible. My only critique is that I wouldn't use the shampoo alone as the first time I washed it out, my hair felt knotty and I was worried that the conditioner wouldn't be enough to get rid of it. But if you use both of the products together, this won't be a problem at all as they both work wonders. These both retail at £8 each, so they are affordable, just slightly more expensive than the average shampoo and conditioner sold in supermarkets and drugstores. However, I recommend them both massively and will be something I will be repurchasing for a long time.

Hemp, Coconut & Shea Treatment Grow Mask -
My ends of my hair can often become dry, thin and not it's best, especially since I used to dye it so often, so I thought a product like this would be perfect for a bit of TLC. I used this for the first time in the shower the other day after washing out the shampoo and conditioner and I loved it! As someone who hasn't used treatment masks in the past after being weary about them damaging my hair and making it feel greasy, I was pleasantly surprised. I only applied this to the ends of my hair as that is the only area that feels damaged, but I might give it a go by using it all over soon to see how it really makes my entire hair feel. I probably didn't leave the mask in for as long as I should have done, but it still made my hair feel hydrated and soft once I had dried it. This treatment is fairly inexpensive at £9 so if you feel like your hair is in need of a boost, then this will be perfect for you.

Exfoliating Scalp Scrub -
I can't say I had heard of a scalp scrub until receiving this product, maybe because it's not something I've openly looked for as I haven't felt the need to use one before, but I was eager to give this a go either way! As I said before, my scalp has never been a problem area, it's usually just my ends that feel damaged, but recently I have noticed a lot of fly aways on the top of my head and I thought this scrub could help tame them. It definitely works with hydrating your hair so if you struggle with dry and damaged hair then this product could definitely be something worth having in your hair care collection.

Vegan Transformative Treatment -
Since I've only used this product once, I haven't noticed much improvement in terms of hair growth, but after a few more tries I'm really hoping to see some results! I've never used a treatment like this in my hair as I usually don't trust products like this, but after reading about the improvements that this can do to your hair, I'm really excited to see whether it works for me as I would love to notice a difference in hair growth and at £10 I wouldn't say it was particularly expensive at all!

All of the grow long collection smells incredible, so I really have nothing bad to say about that and overall I am completely in love with this entire collection. My hair has never felt softer and the products always make my hair feel beautiful, considering how much I hated my hair before using them.

Have you tried any products from Umberto Giannini?

Love Always,
Shannon x
