What I've Been Watching Lately & Vegan Brownie Recipe

3.23.2019

I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for a good tv show/movie. There's few things that I love more than sitting down in the evening and watching a show that I'm completely hooked on. You'll usually find me on Netflix 90% of the time as I use it as background noise for literally everything that I do, whether that be writing, drawing, painting, baking, you name it.

I've recently seen so many shows and movies that I've fallen in love with and I just can't wait to share them with you. If you've seen any of these shows/ movies I'd love to know your thoughts on them!

The Good Place -
When I first starting watching this I was very unsure if I liked it or if I thought it was a show on serious drugs, but after some time I've really grown to love it and now I'm hooked! I'm currently halfway through season two and I just don't want it to end. Plus can we talk about how beautiful Jameela Jamil is?! A literal goddess.

I Feel Pretty -
I had heard so many great things about this movie when it was first released and I was so excited when I saw it on Netflix the other day. If you love a good chic flick then you will definitely enjoy this. Not only is it funny, but it also make you put things into perspective and makes you realise how you should learn to love yourself for who you are rather than comparing yourself to others. I thought it was a really empowering movie and I can't wait to watch it again already.

Isn't It Romantic -
I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved this movie. I absolutely loved Liam Hemsworth's character and it had me laughing so much throughout the entire film. I would definitely say that Isn't It Romantic is similar to I Feel Pretty in terms of self love and both being good comedies, so you're bound to love them both.

Riverdale -
I'll be honest, I struggle to take this show seriously at times, especially when they throw the odd musical episode in like last weeks episode.. But I do really enjoy watching the show and it always makes me happy when I see that there's another episode up. Although the storylines are pretty odd and many things make me cringe, I just can't help watching it and I've certainly gotten more into it as of lately.

Notting Hill -
If you read my Top 10 Favourite Movies Of All Time  post, then you'll know how much I LOVE Notting Hill. Now that it's on Netflix, I can't help but throw it on when I fancy watching something or to have in the background when I'm busy. It's everything I love in a movie, from British humour to a brilliant cast, it's just perfect. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are two of my favourite actors, which makes me love this movie a million times more.

Ellen Degeneres Relatable -
Sometimes in the evenings when I'm at my boyfriends and he's got his eyes glued to his playstation (anyone else relate?), I love watching a stand up comedy. Jack Whitehall is my absolute favourite comedian, but since I've watched all of his shows I knew it was about time I found someone else, which then lead me to find Ellen's new Netflix original. I love her anyway, but this show was so funny and I loved every minute of it.

Dumplin' -
I watched this movie fairly recently with my family and everyone loved it! It's such a lovely movie and also focuses on self love just like Isn't It Romantic and I Feel Pretty which I think is such an important topic anyway, so knowing that movies are focusing on this more nowadays is amazing.

I feel like I mention this in almost every movie related post, but what is a jam packed evening full of movies without tasty treats?

Today I baked these iconic brownies  and I can't wait to enjoy one later while I watch I Feel Pretty with my mum after persuading her to watch it with me! I added walnuts into this recipe and they're the perfect addition if you fancy a bit of crunch.

What have you been watching lately?

Best wishes,
Shannon x

  1. I haven't seen any of these, but I did watch an episode of The Good Place and didn't know how I felt about it either. I ended up leaving it as I didn't think I'd like it, but maybe I should go back to it and watching another few eps? I'd LOVE to watch Dumplin' though, the trailer for it looks amazing! And those brownies look delicious 😍

  4. I absolutely loved isnt it romantic.. Rebel Wilson is just brilliant. I always end up loving every character that she plays without fail. Riverdale is also loosing me a little bit, which is a shame but I'm glad that I'm not the only one who finds that x

  6. Oh I adore The Good Place, so bizarre but it's hilarious! I'd honestly re-watch Isn't It Romantic purely for the cheesy dance number at the end haha, but I agree, the message was incredible. These brownies look amazing!
