These four-ingredient puff pastry cinnamon knots are a must-try dessert this autumn!
They are so quick and simple to make - and did I mention, 4 ingredients?!
This recipe is dairy-free, egg-free and vegan-friendly as long as you use dairy-free butter and the puff pastry doesn't contain dairy. Most UK supermarkets offer their own brand of ready-to-roll puff pastry, and they are usually always accidentally vegan, as well as Jus Rol.
All you need is:
- puff pastry (store bought, but check the packaging in case it's not dairy-free / vegan-friendly. Most UK brands are accidentally vegan anyway, but it's always safe to check!)
- dairy-free butter
- brown sugar
- ground cinnamon
You can use an air fryer or an oven for this recipe. The air fryer will take less time, but both work perfectly fine.

- EASY 4-INGREDIENT CINNAMON KNOTS -
You will need:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 1/2 tbsp vegan butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp vegan butter
- 4 heaped tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
Method:
1. Roll out the puff pastry and slice it in half.
2. Melt the butter in the microwave for 25 seconds or until completely melted.
3. Brush one side of the puff pastry with the melted butter, leaving a little bit of butter left over for later.
4. Combine the 2 tbsp of brown sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle it on top of the puff pastry.
5. Place the other side of the puff pastry on top and use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to slice the pastry into 6 strips.
6. To make the knots, simply twist the puff pastry from both ends and roll one side down to the other, tucking the end underneath.
7. Line a baking tray with a small piece of parchment paper.
8. Place the knots onto the tray and brush them with the remaining butter.
9. Place the baking tray into an air fryer at 180C for 15 minutes or into an oven for 25 minutes.
10. Add 4 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon to a bowl.
11. Melt 2 tbsp butter in the microwave for 25 seconds and brush each knot with the melted butter before rolling them in the cinnamon sugar.
